DJ Next, the CEO and visionary behind Amalgam Digital, the nation’s leading independent hip-hop label, has released the official cover art for his upcoming film, Egypt Through The Glass Shop, NexTclusively through The Fresh Heir.

Egypt Through The Glass Shop has been a long time in the works and is what DJ Next, also known as Anyextee, is calling, “not just a movie about the revolution of a nation, but also about the revolution of an entire cultural art form.”

Anyextee recently returned from Egypt, where he spent time during the Arab spring filming Egypt Through The Glass Shop. The movie is a first-hand account of the Egyptian Revolution, cleverly documented through a unique true story about a young entrepreneur and talented glass blower from America who, through his glass shop, teaches the Egyptian people how to blow glass while trapped in the country during the revolution. The film also centers on he and Anyextee’s return to Egypt on the one year anniversary of the People’s uprising.

Produced and directed by Anyextee, Egypt Through The Glass Shop boasts cinematography from another rising star, Brian Petchers, who is rapidly gaining popularity for his music videos throuhgout the hip-hop world.

DJ Next launched AmalgamDigital.com in 2006 as hip-hop’s first genre-specific digital store and label platform. Through his label, he developed the innovative new media marketing strategies that helped put artists such as former Grammy nominee Joe Budden back on the map, and he also signed, developed, and put out debut albums from some of today’s brightest independent stars including Max B, Curren$y, Lil B The Based God, Wale, Chuuwee, Saigon, Peedi Crakk, and many more.

DJ Next is also known for releasing the first “Digital Only” album in hip-hop history, registered with Soundscan and charted on Billboard. He was also the first to conceptualize and produce the first live webcast in the history of hip-hop and the first to introduce the genre to the idea of viral “webisodes” and artist-based reality TV for the web (via Juggaknots Trailer, Max B TV, Joe Budden TV, & SaigonVision) as well as to release digital mixtape albums as part of a marketing strategy to promote forthcoming releases. Additionally, he developed the Digital Sessions brand, which is essentially a American Idol for hip-hop on wheels, a platform that showcases independent and unsigned artists while bridging the gap between these artist and A&R executives from both major and top independent labels.

With a proven track record in the music industry, the game changer known as DJ Next recently expanded into the film industry after completing Dov Simens two-day film school. Under his alias Anyextee (NE-X-T), he has started producing, directing, and acting. His directorial debut is an educational motif on marijuana and its medical properties, mostly focused on the Northern California grower culture, and the film is slated for release later this year. Aside from that, the focus is on Egypt Through The Glass Shop, a film that is sure to make waves all over the globe.
