At least around Boston, the name Teddy Roxpin is one that everyone just… knows. Maybe it’s because he’s worked with some people you might be familiar with – Tayyib Ali (HERE), Chris Webby (HERE), Mac Miller (HERE) – the list goes on. But maybe it’s simply because he never stops. The 22-year-old is on his grind to say the least, and he’s quickly establishing himself as one of the premier up-and-coming producers in the game. I can’t remember when I first heard of him, but I know it was long before I met him a couple months ago.
I got a chance to link up with Teddy the same night I interviewed Logic after his performance at Boston’s Hard Rock Cafe in April, and we decided that night that at some point in the near future, we’d be doing an interview of our own.
So… it happened. Last week, The Fresh Heir and Decriminals teamed up once again and met Teddy at his place in Allston, which just happens to double as one of the coolest beat-making spots I’ve seen, and talked about everything from his introduction to producing, to his work with some of the biggest names in the rap game, to what he’s got planned for the future, and so much more. But you’ve gotta watch the interview to hear it all.
Be sure to follow @Teddy_Roxpin on Twitter and like his Facebook page to keep up with the latest from the man creating some of the most sought after sounds around.
Enjoy the interview.
