It’s been a little while since our last interview, but if there’s ever a way to bounce back into the game in style, it’s with Chance The Rapper.
Chance has been my favorite artist for the past year now, and I think I’ve done a pretty good job of making that clear. I jumped on an opportunity to bring him to Boston University to perform alongside Joey Bada$$ this past Friday night, and I was thrilled to be able to sit down with him for an exclusive interview just prior to the show.
In the interview, Chance discusses what life’s been like since #10Day, the amazing reception to his two recent releases (“Juice” and “Acid Rain”), his work with video director Austin Vesely, the roles Chicago blogs Ruby Hornet and Fake Shore Drive have played in his success, and of course, what fans can expect from the April release of Acid Rap.
Many agree that Chance is a superstar in the making – I’ve championed that for a while – but aside from that, he’s an extremely intelligent, down-to-earth dude with incredible passion and a level of creativity perhaps beyond even what his music can express.
The interview was filmed and edited by Goodwin, who is now officially joining the TFH staff. Look for a great deal of interviews and footage coming out of SXSW next week. Stay updated with the links below. #AcidRap in April.
