A post that doesn’t need much introduction – this Saturday, January 21st, the Jordan Chicago 10s will retro for the first time and release nationwide at a price tag of $160.

As everyone knows, there are already numerous high-profile sneaker releases on the slate for the opening months of 2012, but the Chicago 10s will undoubtedly remain one of the most sought after pairs.

The OG version of the Chicago 10 released in 1995, the season MJ returned to the NBA after his stint on the diamond, and the sneaker has not been retroed since. While the 10s will be a general release this Saturday and it won’t be overly difficult to get your hands on a pair, don’t sleep, because they will sell out very quickly in most areas.

Remember – Chicago 10s release online at midnight on Saturday, 1/21, and in stores the same day.

This Saturday (9/3), a brand new colorway – specifically Stealth-Varsity Red-Black-White – of the 3s, dubbed the “Stealth 3s” will be hitting retailers across the nation.

The Stealth 3s will retail for $150 - for all the Jordan heads out there, enjoy that price while you can because starting in October, the Jordan Brand price hike will be in effect and all your general releases like these will be $160 instead.

There have been all kinds of opinions about this shoe, and I’ll admit I wasn’t a fan at all when I first got a look, but the more photos and video reviews I’ve seen of the Stealth 3s, the more I like them. There always seems to be a fair amount of hate when a new colorway of a classic retro releases, but I think the Stealth 3s will sell pretty well. You just can never go wrong with a pair of 3s, and come Saturday I might be buying my third pair of them this year (BHMs in Feb. and and True Blues in June).

I spend a lot of time watching video reviews of sneakers, and believe me there are plenty out there, but my favorite reviewer by a mile is JJJumpman23. He’s a 16-year-old kid from the Empire State that always provides great comparisons and information in his reviews, and he usually includes an on-feet segment, which more often than not helps me decide whether or not I’m going to purchase a certain pair of shoes.

His latest review, conveniently, is of the Stealth 3s, so check that out below if you’re on the fence about them.

I’ve posted plenty about these exclusive kicks already, but now that the multiple release dates are nearing (Saturday, 7/9 at SoleFly Miami and Saturday, 7/23 in Boston), I figured I should provide any additional info I haven’t already.

First of all, one of the owners of the Jordan Brand-affiliated sneaker boutique, SoleFly, known as TheClosetCollector, does a series of video reviews of all Jordan shoe releases and puts them on YouTube. Yesterday, he posted the above video featuring a short review of the Ray Allen PE XIII as well as the Fly Wade “South Beach,” two of the four exclusive releases SoleFly will have for retail this Saturday (7/9) as part of the shop’s one-year anniversary. The other two sneakers for sale will be the previously released Cool Grey XI and Year of the Rabbit XII.

According to the information provided by TheClosetCollector and SoleFly, the sneakers will only be available on Saturday via a raffle. Tickets will be given out today (Friday), so if you’re in Miami, head over to SoleFly and get one right away. There will then be a drawing on Saturday at 3 pm during the all-day anniversary event, and the winners will have the opportunity to purchase one of the four aforementioned sneakers.

As for the Boston release of the Ray Allen PE XIII scheduled for Saturday, July 23rd, there is still not a whole bunch of specific information. House of Hoops Boston at Cambridgeside Galleria will definitely be getting a handful of pairs, and as of now there are rumors that two or three other spots in Boston may be receiving the sneakers as well.

One thing that is definitely confirmed – no other city in the US besides Boston and Miami will have these for sale. The resell price on the Ray XIIIs will skyrocket, so if you have any intention of copping a pair for a reasonable price, I suggest you make your way to Miami or Boston.

Anyway, the Electric Blue (yeah, that’s what I’m going with) Foamposite Pros will release this Friday, July 1st, at a retail price of $190. The kicks are expected to hit most major retailers, though they will likely be somewhat limited.

The Return of the Macs have arrived. I can say with 100 percent confidence that anyone currently between the ages of 18 and 22 who played anything from street to rec to AAU basketball growing up ranks the original T-Macs (I, II, or III) somewhere in their top five bball shoes of all time. They were just the greatest. I had my favorite pairs of Js, sure, but there was something special about my black T-Mac 2′s with the blue stripes that I wore when I scored 20 points a game for the Ellington travel “B” team that finished 1-17 (NOTE: the one win came as a result of my one and only buzzer beater against Canton in the first round of the playoffs. No joke. Ask DJ Hartman).

Anyway, a couple weeks ago Adidas announced that the T-Mac 2 would be re-releasing at some point this summer, but with a few adjustments and modifications. I can’t find any high definition photos of the OG T-Mac 2, but I’ll post the best one I can find below this paragraph to serve as a comparison. Basically, they removed the classic T-Mac logo (now they don’t have to compensate the former superstar, look how that works out), they did away with the inner liner around the ankle, and they revamped the midsole to make it a more prominent and glossier cut.

There’s no question that if I had a choice I’d take the OGs over the “Return of the Macs” in a heartbeat, but after receiving my shipment of these today and examining them as well as wearing them around for a couple hours, I’ve gotta say I’m pleasantly surprised. They look very clean on feet, and they’re no less comfortable than I remember them being ten years ago. Even if the quality was sub-par, for $65 it’s hard to complain. Finishline’s low retail price caught me off guard, but it was a relief, especially after just last last week I decided to sit down and total up the amount I’ve spent on sneakers in the past six months. And I simply had to have these, even if just for nostalgia’s sake. They aren’t exact “retro” models and a lot of people were upset with the modifications after seeing initial photos, but I’m not unhappy in the least. A comfortable pair of T-Macs for a good price that remind me of a simpler time when both Tracy McGrady and I were dominant players in our respective leagues. T-Mac still remains my favorite player in the post-Jordan years, and it’s a shame to think what he could have been had injuries not held him back.

Bottomline, if you were once a fan of the T-Macs and rocked them proudly on and off the court like I did, do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of these at your local Finishline or at finishline.com for the low price of $64.99. They aren’t perfect, but you won’t be disappointed. Haters gon’ hate. I’ll leave you with a couple more pics.
