Freddie Gibbs is unleashing the monster that is ESGN on July 9th via iTunes.

Yesterday, he dropped off a new set of visuals for a cut off the album called “Eastside Moonwalker.” Gangsta Gibbs rarely takes Ls, and this is no different. Bang this as loud as you can.

Earlier this week, Martin $ky dropped off a new set of visuals for the well-received, “It Don’t Stop.”

The young Chicago emcee has been cultivating a steadily growing buzz and fan base through his consistent delivery of high quality music, so when he asked for 50 retweets in return for the release of the video this week, it was no surprise when he got it in a matter of minutes.

I really like what Martin and Bono Nikolic did with this visual. Shot and edited by Bono, the video is appropriately dark and slow-moving. It’s minimal and simple in concept, but the animation gives it a real nice flavor, making it a truly unique work of art that fits Martin’s image perfectly.

You might recognize the name Maye Star. The 17-year-old emcee out of Boston made a whole lot of noise last year between the release of his debut mixtape Mayeday, regular performances and a slew of visuals.

He’s been quiet lately, but for good reason. I spoke with Maye yesterday, and he tells me he’s been sitting back, observing, and learning from his early successes and shortcomings – all while working on new music behind the scenes, of course. Sometimes the best thing to do is take a step back and ensure the foundation you’re building is a strong one, so needless to say, I’m excited to see what Maye does with this comeback of sorts.

Today, he premieres a brand new video with TFH for a track called “Blue Sky,” a new take on the Common record of the same name. The song was released in audio form around this time last year and can be found on Mayeday, but this impressive set of visuals will give it well-deserved second life as Maye begins to prep the world for new material.

Shot and edited by Kris Roller of KJR Productions, “Blue Sky” is simple in concept but effective, wholly focused on Maye as he delivers punchline after punchline over the smooth No I.D. production.

Watch the video above, and look out for much more from Maye Star in the coming weeks, including a new track called “Undefeated” and a record with Bad Boy signee Los later this summer. His sophomore project, Mayeham, is slated for an August release. Stay tuned.

Boston-based producer SXMPLELIFE just released an extremely emotional rework of J-Kwon’s 2003 smash hit, “Tipsy.”

Sidenote: That song is a decade old. Fuck.

Anyway, this “bootleg remix” is easily one of the most enjoyable pieces of music I’ve listened to this week. The only thing that could possibly make it better is if Yung Lean tacked on a verse. I’m gonna see what I can do.

It’s Freddie Gibbs‘ birthday today, and it appears his celebration includes the release of a new song.

“Freddie Soprano” is a cut off his upcoming album ESGN – Evil Seeds Grow Naturally (July 9th) and is produced by ID Labs.

Gangsta Gibbs is one of the most consistent rappers doing it. “Freddie Soprano” is a classic Gibbs record as the Gary, IN native goes in for four minutes over smooth production with a couple of hard-hitting verses sandwiched by a hook that blends seamlessly.

I knew Lorine Chia had something special the first time I heard her voice – on this track with Chance The Rapper last summer – now with a rumored appearance on Yeezus, it’s looking like the rest of the world might catch on real soon.

Lorine just dropped off a new track called “Might Come Around,” a soulful record infused with an electronic vibe. The young Cameroonian singer has a beautiful voice, but what’s always caught my attention is her truly new sound, one that manages to be both nostalgic and futuristic at the same time.

I’m a big fan of this song. I’ve already ran it back three times, and I see myself listening to it a lot more the rest of the week.

Ken Rebel and Karmaloop TV recently connected to shoot a video for “Money Money Money,” the popular brandUn DeShay-produced record off Ken’s R.E.B.E.L. mixtape.

I’m a big fan of this video, from the storyline to the pacing to the coloring. Directed and edited by Shomi Patwary, “Money Money Money” highlights Ken’s energy and youthfulness as well as his standout sense of style that, along with his music, has earned him a significant following in NYC and beyond.

This new cut from Vince Staples goes extremely hard. “Killin Ya’ll,” produced by Mac Miller‘s producer alias Larry Fisherman, opens with an Ab-Soul verse, then Staples comes through and murders the dark, spacey beat.

“Killen Ya’ll” will be featured on Stolen Youth, Vince’s album produced entirely by Larry Fisherman that drops next week.

Vince Staples is low key one of the most talented spitters in the game. I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of the album along with the rest of the world. Stay tuned.

I was just commenting on two things: how this month has already provided so much good music, and how Wiz Khalifa has been featured on so many tracks this week alone. Then this popped up on my timeline.

A couple months ago, Wiz posted a vine of him singing along to Kevin Gates‘ hit record, “Satellites.” Today, we get a remix featuring Young Khalifa Man himself. With a slightly altered beat, the track has a revamped feel, and the Wiz verse lends the new version to party atmosphere more so than the original did.

Kevin Gates is one of my favorite artists right now. I’ve been bumping his Luca Brasi Story mixtape ever since it dropped, and this remix is going to introduce him to a whole new group of fans.

Charmingly Ghetto releases a new single titled “Got To Get Away,” a cut off his upcoming project, Of The Meaning Of Progress.

The album, which will be available for free download via DJBooth.net on July 2nd, is a collaborative effort with producer ATG. This track, which features the soulful vocals of Katrina Renee, is one of my favorite CG records I’ve heard to date and has my anticipation for the project at a whole new level.

ATG’s production on “Got to Get Away” is mesmerizing, and CG switches up his flow to give the track bounce while allowing it to maintain its dreaminess.
